I have been trying to find ways to make money online. I have watched video after video and every one of them says how easy it is to just “fill in the blank” and you will be raking in the dough. On my shop page I have links to journals and coloring books and products with my art on it. I have been searching and learning for several years now and have not made a dime. Clearly I am doing it wrong or am just not smart enough to figure out how this thing works or maybe you have to be in high school to actually become an internet sensation. I don’t know.
I decided I would make things that make me happy with the “build it and they will come” attitude. That might have worked in the field of dreams but it doesn’t work that way on the internet. What none of these get rich quick schemes mentions is the incredible amount of work behind the scenes; finding a web builder, learning that tool or language, finding ways to monetize it, how to integrate with multiple programs, learning about book publishing, designing, drawing, advertising, search engine optimization, online courses. Here I must diverge because when you get into the world of learning and online courses then you get into the world of scammers. So so so many scammers for absolutely everything. Parasites of society who just want to cheat people out of money without contributing one iota of positivity to the plant. But I digress…I believe you are getting the picture that success in the online world takes time, persistence, and continuous learning. So, I am finding ways to stay motivated and keep experimenting to find what works best for me.
What I know about me is that I am an introvert so I don’t want to make online videos featuring me. I am also not a narcissist so I don’t want to see my face all over the internet. I am introspective so writing works well for me. I am also a philosophical thinker so I find sharing ideas and hearing what other people think interesting. I love creating things. Can you make money doing that? I have no earthly clue, but I will continue to write and make things and post it on this web page so if you are interested, you can follow along.
