Baby animals

Even though there are many animals on the island that are considered invasive or pests like these chickens, I think they are saved by their cuteness as babies.  Before you know it they have grown up and are reproducing and wreaking havoc on an island with no predators to control the population growth.  I believe it is the cuteness factor that allows these creatures to flourish and there must be an innate human response to cuteness that makes us want to cuddle and protect baby things.  Otherwise, these invasive pests would be snuffed out in their infancy not to live another day to breed and exasperate the over population problem.  There are of course exceptions to the rule as with anything in nature, which is what makes stranger danger a real thing.  There are people who are aberrations of nature that defy basic  rules of decency, but our society functions because the majority of people are governed by the cuteness factor.  Humans single handedly effect the environment and extinction of species more than other living creature.  Any species that is not going to go extinct better have a high cuteness factor.
